Hi all,

On Nov 12th, I brought in Mae for an appointment to check on some coughing, hacking, and sneezing. After several diagnostics, here’s what we know so far: she has a bleeding mass high up on the inside of the left side of her nose and some bronchial interstitial pattern that will require a CT scan to further determine the cause. The 3 likeliest causes are cancer, benign tumor, or blastomycosis.

Mae Mae is 12-13 years old, so of course, palliative and hospice care are on my mind depending on what we find out. So far, I’ve spent $1000 on diagnostics, and we have the CT scan and likely more medical costs upcoming as we try to keep my girl around a little longer if possible.

If you have had the pleasure of meeting Mae, you know how gentle and sweet she is. She never wants to make trouble for anyone unless she’s begging for a Greenie at the treat drawer when it becomes everyone’s problem. I love to say she’s the longest relationship I’ve ever had because we’ve been through SO MUCH together. Despite these recent symptoms, she’s still overall a happy doggie with energy to wrestle her little brother Echo and go for coffee shop runs in the neighborhood.

Anything contributed here will go directly towards Mae’s vet bills, medications, and other care costs including end of life care if that’s where we’re at. I GREATLY appreciate your support at this difficult time and will use this page to give updates as I am able.
