My name is Sharon and I am the proud grandmother of Madyson Hall, a beautiful 15-year-old 10th-grade student at Martin Luther King Collegiate Academy. I am reaching out to our family, friends, and community to ask for support for a very special educational opportunity that has been presented to her—a school-sponsored educational trip to Barcelona, Spain!

Madyson is a dedicated student with a 3.5 GPA, and she takes her education seriously. This trip represents much more than travel; it is an opportunity for her to expand her learning beyond the classroom and experience history, culture, and global perspectives firsthand. Exposure to another country and culture will help her better understand the world, develop cultural awareness, and grow both academically and personally.

Madyson plans to study forensic science in college, and this experience will help her strengthen important skills such as critical thinking, observation, communication, and understanding different perspectives—skills that are essential for success in that field and in life. This trip will also encourage independence, confidence, and personal growth as she continues preparing for her future.

In addition to her academic achievements, Madyson is actively involved in serving others. At church, she works with the audio and media team, helping support worship services behind the scenes. She also volunteers at the children’s museum, an art studio, and with LIT on occasion. These experiences reflect her commitment to learning, creativity, teamwork, and giving back to her community.

The total cost of the trip is $4,130, which includes airfare, hotel accommodations, meals, transportation, educational tours, and scheduled activities. We our asking for 5k to assist with extra expenses along the way and spending money. While our family is doing what we can, the financial cost is the greatest challenge. Any donation—no matter the size—would help make this meaningful educational opportunity possible for her.

Madyson has big dreams of attending college and using her education to make a positive difference in the world. As her grandmother, it is my heartfelt desire to support her goals and surround her with a community that believes in the power of education and service.
