Support Madison's Vision for Music
Donation protected
My name is Mandy Kennett, and I started this Go Fund Me to help my daughter’s lifelong friend, Madison. Madison has been one of Vanessa’s absolute best friends since first grade at Zarrow International School. They’re practically inseparable.
Madison discovered her love for the violin at the age of 5 and has been passionately playing ever since. Her dedication to music is truly inspiring, and she dreams of competing in state competitions with her high school orchestra.
However, to continue thriving and pursuing her dreams, she urgently needs specialized medical equipment. She was diagnosed with Macular Dystrophy at the age of 7, right around the time the girls became fast friends. This rare eye condition affects only 1 in 10,000 people and has significantly impacted her vision. Despite this challenge, Madison has shown remarkable resilience and determination.
She has an incredible family who has definitely had their fair share of obstacles over the years. Her dad, a former Owasso firefighter and nurse at Bailey and Claremore Indian Hospital, was diagnosed with cancer several years ago. He had been doing well for quite some time, however, recently they discovered it came back. He is currently getting treatment for stage 4 Melanoma with metastasis to the brain and liver.
This has all put a financial strain on this amazing family. Just a few weeks ago, they found that insurance will not cover the device she needs.
We are aiming to raise $5,000 to purchase a digital visual aid device for Madison. This device will be a game-changer for her, enabling her to:
• Read sheet music and play the violin more effectively
• Complete her schoolwork with greater ease
• Participate in extracurricular activities
• Maintain her independence and continue improving her violin skills
Unfortunately, there is no cure for Macular Dystrophy at this time. Visual assistive devices are essential, but they come with a high cost. Your support will directly impact Madison’s ability to learn, grow, and achieve her dreams.
Every donation, no matter how small, brings us one step closer to our goal.
Thank you for your kindness and support.
