After a lot of thought and wanting to respect my daughter’s privacy, I’ve been contemplating asking for some help in a current medical and financial challenge. I wanted to reach out and see if we could raise some money to help with Madison’s current and upcoming medical bills, recent surgery May 9, rehab, missed work time/school work etc. You see, Madison has had so many trials and tribulations and has persevered thru these challenges only to be faced with yet another unexpected challenge. She was attending OCU this fall and a redshirt on basketball team while rehabbing from ACL surgery last March, She started having pretty severe migraines that soon turned into brief blackout episodes later deemed to be like mini seizures then nausea. We sent her to PCP, sent for a MRI which revealed she had a large temporal lobe cavernoma which the way to cure this is by having a craniotomy and surgically remove the cavernous lesion on her brain, 2 day hospital stay and 2-4 week recovery. Her surgery was in Tyler May 9 and she was in ICU 2 days, then regular room, but still in great deal of pain from in her head, pain meds slowly managing symptoms like a severe concussion with significant sensitivity to noises and bright lights. Prior to surgery, She had been trying to continue training to rehab her knee from ACL surgery March 2024 to potentially still return to playing collegiate b-ball, but with newest challenges she has been losing some of her spirit. Trying to stay motivated, positive but need some financial/spiritual help from some friends and family to help with upcoming max out of pocket expenses and medical expenses/rehab as well as missing time working. I have been trying to handle these things by myself or with parents help, but pretty stressful/tough to say the least. Have been too humble to ask for help, but now I am reaching out and asking for some help, any amount can help us get Maddie all the help she needs to pay medical expenses, take some financial pressures off this extensive medical journey, return to college and normal activities a 19 y/o should be doing. I want Madison to get all help she needs. Donations will be used for current and upcoming medical bills/expenses and rehab that insurance doesn’t cover. Prayers much appreciated as well.
