If you know Madison Stephens, you know her as someone who is endlessly giving, fiercely independent, and always seeking adventure and beauty in life. What many people do not see is the years she has quietly spent battling a rare, progressive autoimmune liver disease called Primary Sclerosing Cholangitis (PSC). That disease has progressed to cirrhosis, and Madison’s only chance at extending her life is a liver transplant.
PSC has no cure. Even more devastating, because the disease is so rare and difficult to measure through standard transplant criteria, Madison is unlikely to receive a deceased donor organ in time. Her best hope is to find a living donor match while navigating the enormous physical, emotional, and financial burden that comes with surviving chronic illness and preparing for a life-saving transplant.
The road ahead is long and uncertain. In addition to the daily challenges of chronic illness, Madison is facing overwhelming medical expenses related to ongoing care, testing, medications, transplant preparation, surgery, and post-transplant recovery.
Our hope is to ease some of that burden so Madison can focus her energy on healing, recovery, and the fight ahead instead of the constant fear of mounting expenses and loss of income during recovery. Every donation will go directly toward medical costs, living expenses during treatment and recovery, and the lifelong care required after transplant.
If you feel moved to help, whether through a donation, sharing this page, or simply keeping Madison in your thoughts, it would mean more than words can express.
Thank you for taking the time to read Madison’s story and for supporting her during the most challenging fight of her life.
