Dear family & friends,

My name is Devin & if you know me, you know I care deeply about my little sister Madison. Her life has been completely flipped upside down recently.

After numerous trips to the ER, being sent home with inadequate treatment, bloodwork, a spinal tap, MRI & several other tests, she was diagnosed with Guillain-Barré syndrome (GBS). It is a rare, acute autoimmune disorder where the immune system attacks the peripheral nervous system, causing rapid muscle weakness, numbness, and potential paralysis.

At this point, she cannot walk & is still in so much pain. Immune Globulin is the therapy she’s been on since last Thursday & it’s not working like it should.

They are waiting for a bed to open up at a hospital in Little Rock for transfer, hoping they can better treat and accommodate her there.

She and her boyfriend Tim have lived together in Mountain Home for a few years. We love Tim like he’s already a part of this family. He has been with Madison through every step & I’m so proud of him.

In the meantime, she isn’t working, and we all know bills don’t stop. Tim will be making the long drives to see & stay with Madison after she is transferred.

We don’t know at this point when she’ll be able to go back to work; she still can’t walk as of now.

I’m hoping we can come together and make this time as smooth as possible for her. Money is the last thing she needs to be worried about right now.
