Have you ever wondered what it would be like to walk on water, have faith that heals, and turn water into wine?
We read these stories from Scripture time and time again where Jesus did the impossible while He was here on earth. He performed many miracles, signs, and wonders. He brought instantaneous healing to some and complete restoration to those who were bound by evil. He spoke of many things to come and shared the Father's will with His disciples and anyone who would give Him a listening ear. He took on the suffering that came with the cross and the glory that came with the resurrection. After the Father sent us Jesus, He then sent us the Holy Spirit to dwell with us in our daily lives. As I sit here in awe and wonder of the Heavenly Father's love for us to not only send us His one and only Son but to also send us His Holy Spirit, I'm also reminded of humanity's response to this outpouring of love at this time in history - not the masses who rejected or even mocked Him, but the faithful few who believed in and followed Him. Their FAITH is what inspires people to this day to continue believing in, following, and loving God.
My name is Madison Teen, a 26 year old girl from Louisiana, who is one of the many people inspired by the stories of faith woven throughout all of Scripture. So much so that I took a leap of faith of my own despite much uncertainty revolving around what my income and day-to-day life would look like in this next chapter of life. In November of 2024, I felt the Holy Spirit strongly calling me to step away from my full-time, stable accounting job of five years to join the Purpose Doesn't Pause team full-time. PDP is a community of women united to uplift other women around the world through handwritten encouragement. As of February 2025, this movement has now reached over 30,000 girls across 113 countries and 6/7 continents - all through faith-based postcards! For the past four months as Community Engagement Manager, I have had the privilege of:
- interacting with the PDP community through our free online app
- mentoring our 27+ team of ambassadors spanning across 12 states and 11 countries
- sharing weekly posts on our social media page and prepping/uploading podcast episodes
- guiding postcard party hosts through the party planning process and joining their parties virtually to pray over the event
- coordinating with Hope, the founder of PDP, and Hilary, our Executive Director, on all things logistics and operations
I had no idea that this is what God had in store when I took that leap of back back in November of last year. I believe the Lord has only scratched the surface of all He has in mind for Purpose Doesn't Pause. I know there is so much more to come...more hope, more healing, more encouragement, more restoration, and more women stepping into their God-given identity, calling, and purpose. And I plan to stick around here for the long-haul, but I can't do it without your prayers, support, and help.
I took this leap of faith knowing that my salary was not yet covered. Since November of 2024, I have been living off of the little bit of savings I was able to accumulate while working at my accounting job. In addition to working for PDP full time during the week, I've also picked up a catering gig and work at a local beauty studio on some weekends to provide a little bit of cash flow. I've cut down my expenditures to the bare minimum expenses. No more hair appointments every 2-3 months, no more getting my nails professionally done every 3 weeks, and no more coverage through my parent's health and dental insurance. I'm still driving my grandma's 07' Buick I purchased back in 2021 for $2,000 and will probably drive it around until the wheels fall off. Nothing fancy, flashy, or extravagant here...just an ordinary girl living a very simple life and following God. I don't share this out of pity; I share this because in faith, I've let go of things of this world so I can give my full yes to all that God is calling me to in this season of life. In faith, I wake up every day filled with much joy, tackling the new tasks that lie ahead, while still waiting on God to provide for me financially. In faith, I've said no to other opportunities that have come along because I know that I know PDP is what God has been preparing me for, equipping me for, and calling me to. In faith, I follow the leading of the Holy Spirit each day and am filled with His peace, even in the midst of waiting, praying, and trusting that He will provide some way some how at some point in time.
If you feel led to donate, prompted to share this story/link with those around you, and/or send a message of encouragement my way, I'd be eternally grateful! With a goal of $10,000, this will cover all of my bare minimum, basic expenses incurred between November 2024 - December 2025 and allow me to continue in my role as Community Engagement Manager for PDP full-time. Every cent will be tracked, prayed over, and surrendered to the Lord. Your contributions matter so much to me, no matter how big or small. I am so humbled, blessed, and grateful to be apart of team PDP, and I know its impact will last a lifetime.
Here's to having the kind of faith the Bible talks about from centuries ago in the year 2025!
