Many of you know that Madi was involved in an accident and was seriously injured. She sustained several broken bones, a concussion, and injuries to her lungs, liver, and spleen. She spent 18 days in the hospital, most of them in the trauma ICU. Madi is now in a medical rehab and can come home after a 3 week stay.

Her friends and family are beyond grateful that she survived the accident and that she will recover.

Recovery will be long. Her doctors are an hour and a half away and we will be traveling to see them often.

This has taken a financial toll on her family.

Even with insurance, savings, and overtime hours the costs are high. PTO has been used up, her mom has taken an unpaid leave of absence, and of course Madi has also lost her income.

Words cannot express how thankful the family is for all that have been praying and helping out in whatever way they can or have already given financially.

Hopefully she can return to work in 6 months and resume hiking and rugby in 12 to 18 months. Yes rugby, she had just started playing. Madi has just gotten her EMT certification and had finished training for her 1st EMT job. She attends fundraisers for others often. Madi loves to go hiking with her dog, Rosie, and her sisters and cousins. She also loves farmers markets, Thai food, traveling, and and makes friends whatever she goes.
