Hi Everyone.
My daughter, Madilynn Monroe Mae Melson, was born on October 24, 2024, and was taken from myself and my family immediately. She was not released from the hospital until May 16, 2025. She was not well at all, and initially, we were looking at needing a heart transplant because a mutation in one of her genes caused her to have Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy. This condition normally rears its ugly head in teenage years, but the more the doctors looked into it, the reason her heart was so thick was from her having pulmonary hypertension in her lungs. Due to how much stress this was putting on her body and heart, she was completely medically paralyzed and sedated for the majority of the first 4 months of her life. They have everything under control at the moment, but she still needs round-the-clock care, which I (her mama) finally give to her at home. She is still on multiple medications and on a feeding tube. We have multiple doctor visits a week, and the hospital is over an hour away from us. Due to her medical conditions, she cannot be taken to any daycare. So, she and my 3-year-old son stay home with me while my husband works. With the medical bills from her being hospitalized for so long, me being out of work since her birth, the commutes to the hospital, and our normal bills on top of it all, our family is struggling with just one of us working. We can no longer afford to pay our month-to-month bills along with rent. Please, if you are able to donate anything, that would be so, so, so, so greatly appreciated. Even prayers are asked for so we can keep our home for our little ones. My daughter is finally getting settled, and we are getting into a routine here at home. I couldn't imagine having to uproot our son either because all of this has also taken a huge toll on him.
Thank you, everyone,
The Melson Family
