Support Madelyn's Study Abroad to Tanzania, Africa

Our daughter, Madelyn, has a unique opportunity this summer from May 25 to June 11 to further her education as well as her future career in the field of zoology. She is wrapping up her junior year, and her college is offering a two-week Study Abroad program to Tanzania, Africa. We're trying to raise extra money to help offset the cost of this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. If we meet our goal that would be fantastic. If we should exceed our goal, any extra will go towards next semester's tuition. Details of the program as copied from her school's study abroad program website:

Travel to Tanzania in eastern Africa! Students will learn about the cultures and physical landscapes of Tanzania through travel and personal experiences. There will be two study sites: 1) the Mt. Kilimanjaro area and the Great Rift Valley in northern Tanzania - will offer opportunities to learn about human-environment interactions and the physical landscapes of the Great Rift Valley; 2) The City of Dar es Salaam and the Island of Zanzibar will offer a glimpse into the historical and cultural geography of East Africa within the context of globalization. The latter will offer a unique opportunity to learn about the origins of the Swahili people, culture, and language. As the program involves travel in the Savanna grasslands of East Africa, Safari is an unintended inconvenience! Students should expect field excursions, cultural activities, community visits, urban walks, lectures, spice tours, and of course, Safari!
