Hi, my name is Christy and I never imagined I’d have to write something like this.
Today, my son Maddox went in for what should have been a simple, routine feeding tube change. Instead, the doctor accidentally punctured his bowel — again. This is the second time this has happened to him.
Because of this, Maddox is now being rushed 5 hours away to UCSF Children’s Hospital so he can undergo emergency surgery to repair the damage. I have to leave immediately, with my younger son Colt coming with me. Maddox will be hospitalized for a week or longer.
We will need to stay near the hospital for days — possibly longer — while Maddox undergoes surgery and recovery. I work as Maddox’s full-time caregiver due to his medical needs, which means when he is hospitalized, I do not get paid. As of today, I am left with no income, no help, and the cost of gas, food, and a hotel is already more than I can manage.
I am devastated, scared, and trying to stay strong for both of my boys.
I am asking for help because I simply cannot do this alone.
Every dollar will go directly toward:
• Gas to get us to UCSF
• A hotel room so Colt and I have somewhere to stay while Maddox is in the hospital
• Food and basic needs while we are away from home
• Expenses while I am unable to work during Maddox’s hospital stay
If you can donate, thank you from the bottom of my heart.
If you cannot donate, please share this — sharing truly helps more than you know.
All I want is to be there with Maddox while he fights through this.
Thank you for seeing my son. Thank you for caring.
Please keep him in your prayers.
