Hi, my name is Kristin, and I am creating this fundraiser for my dear friend, Maddison Dawson (Fletcher). Maddison is 35 years old, an educator, a wife, and most importantly, a mom to her 3-year-old daughter, McCall, who is her whole world. On November 13, 2025, Maddison was diagnosed with Stage 3 colorectal cancer that had spread to nearby lymph nodes. Since then, life has been filled with doctor appointments, scans, chemotherapy, radiation, and surgeries. She recently underwent surgery for an ileostomy and will soon begin IV chemotherapy, with another surgery ahead for tumor removal as she continues fighting this battle. Because of her treatments and recovery, Maddison made the incredibly difficult decision to take unpaid leave from work for the remainder of the school year so she can focus on healing. While her job will be there when she returns, the loss of income combined with medical bills, hospital stays, medications, daycare, mortgage, and everyday living expenses has created a significant financial burden for her family. Our biggest concern is making sure finances never prevent her from getting the best treatment possible. If you know Maddison, you know she is the person who shows up for everyone else. She is a giver, not a receiver, and asking for help is incredibly hard for her. But right now, she needs her community around her. We are asking for help to support Maddison and her family during this incredibly difficult time.
