On September 14th, our world changed in an instant when my daughter Maddalyn was involved in a horrific car accident. The car she was riding in went over a cliff and fell 377 feet, leaving her with life-threatening injuries. Maddalyn suffered a brain bleed and swelling on the right side of her brain, a broken neck, and a fractured thoracic spine. Since being admitted to the hospital, she has also experienced seizure activity. The medical team had to sedate her and place her on a ventilator to protect her brain and prevent further injury to her neck and back.

Maddalyn is an amazing young woman—sweet, strong-willed, and fiercely loyal to her family and friends. She is a fighter, and her determination inspires everyone around her. Right now, our family is focused on being by her side every step of the way. Her father, siblings, and I are doing everything we can to support her through this unimaginable journey. The road ahead will be long and filled with challenges, including extensive medical care, therapy, and the many unknowns that come with such a serious injury.
