Our love story took an unexpected turn just 42 days before our planned wedding on April 24th. On March 13th, instead of walking down the aisle, we found ourselves in a hospital room, holding hands and pledging our love to each other in a profound and beautiful ceremony. Surrounded by hope and the support of those closest to us, we promised to face every challenge together. Mackenzie’s bravery and grace in that moment and every day since have been nothing short of inspiring. Her strength, kindness, and gentle spirit are the foundation of our bond, and her ability to find light even in the darkest times is a gift to everyone who knows her.
Mackenzie is funny, full of life, and passionate about everything she does. She is always ready with a smile or a joke, and her love for her friends, family, and her two cats, Dr. Breakfast and Sansa, is boundless. Her sense of humor and love of puns make every day brighter.
At just 17, Mackenzie received her first heart transplant, and for 15 years, she lived life to the fullest. Recently, she suffered a double silent heart attack and a spinal stroke, which has left her facing another heart transplant and paralysis from the waist down. This sudden and overwhelming change has brought new challenges for Mackenzie and our family, including the need for extensive medical care, rehabilitation, and adjustments to daily life.
We are asking for support to help cover Mackenzie’s medical bills, rehab expenses, relocation to accessible housing, and transportation needs. Your generosity will make a real difference in her journey toward recovery and adaptation. Thank you for considering a donation and for being part of our community of hope and support.
