My sister Mackenzie is facing a critical moment in her health journey, and our family is asking for your support.

Mackenzie has a number of congenital disorders that have severely impacted her quality of life and continue to progress. One of the most urgent is hip dysplasia, which has made walking increasingly difficult and painful. Without intervention, her mobility will continue to deteriorate, and she may soon face the need for full hip replacements.

This winter, Mackenzie has the opportunity to undergo a major surgery that will help her regain and maintain mobility for as long as possible. This isn’t just a quality-of-life procedure—it’s a now or never situation. Because she will age out of her current insurance in August, December is the only window to have the surgery partially covered and to ensure she has the nine months of follow-up care required before her screws can be safely removed.

Unfortunately, due to her health and the state of the economy, Mackenzie’s career as an audio engineer has been completely halted, and she hasn’t been able to save enough to cover the time she’ll need to recover. Last year, she had to return to work far too soon after another surgery, and this time she needs the space and support to heal fully.

We’re raising $15,000 to help cover medical expenses, three months of rent, car payments, and basic living expenses while she recovers. If we’re able to meet this goal, she can get the surgery she needs without the impossible choice between her health and her survival.
