Hi everyone. This gofundme is organized for our friend Mackenzie Kitchen to help support her and her family throughout cancer treatment and recovery. Mackenzie was diagnosed in late December with Stage 3 cervical cancer. Treatment is an aggressive 8 week regimen of chemotherapy and radiation, and the return to health can be slow afterwards. Mackenzie has excellent care at the BC Cancer centre and a good shot at a cure.

However, this treatment can only happen once, as radiation damages healthy organs and cant be repeated in the same area twice. So she is giving this treatment 100%. Support from you can help Mackenzie seek additional healing like barometric oxygen chamber therapy for radiation damage, hormone therapy and other medications/supplements not covered by health care.

Your support will also go toward care for Katarina, Mackenzie’s 5 year old daughter. Katarina has been enrolled in extra activities to allow time for her mom to rest, and is flying up to the BC interior to stay with family over spring break.

Finally, your support will go towards the many costs that add up during challenges like this. Cleaning services, extra groceries and insurance as Mackenzie’s mom is here from Australia helping out, gas and parking at the BC Cancer centre each day, medications, etc. All the little things that add up, while on a reduced income.

Many of you have reached out to offer support and Mackenzie is so appreciative of the kind messages, emails, cards and gifts. They have truly lifted her and helped her stay strong and positive through this challenge.
