Hello, my name is Dan, and I am reaching out on behalf of my niece, Maci, and my sister’s family.

A few weeks ago, Maci was seriously injured in a fire. She has been receiving care at UPMC Mercy Hospital, where she has bravely endured multiple weeks of treatment, including skin graft surgeries. Her strength and resilience have been nothing short of inspiring, but the journey ahead is long and filled with challenges.

While Maci fights to heal, her family is doing everything they can to be by her side. Unfortunately, this has placed a heavy financial burden on them. Between medical bills, the cost of travel and fuel to the hospital, and the everyday expenses that don’t stop during a crisis, the financial strain has been overwhelming.

We are creating this GoFundMe to help ease some of that burden so that my sister and her family can focus fully on what matters most — Maci’s recovery.

• Travel and fuel costs for hospital visits

• Household bills and necessities while her parents support her at the hospital
