As many of you know, my brother and his wife welcomed their first child, Macie, in November. What you probably didn't know is that she was born with a rare heart condition known as Tetralogy of Fallot, one of the symptoms of which causes her oxygen-poor blood to mix with oxygen-rich blood through a hole in her heart.
She will need multiple surgeries and procedures to fix this, and her first one happens in 3 weeks, where they will reroute multiple blood vessels to her lungs through open heart surgery.
For Macie to receive adequate care for her condition, Macie and her family are having to travel for all of her appointments and surgeries to Charlotte, 3 hours from their home. Presently, Macie's parents are unsure whether or not they will be able to secure free housing through the Ronald McDonald House as the waitlist is extensive. They will also need meals and necessities for the duration of Macie's hospital stay, which could last up to 1 month.
If you are able to contribute anything to help Macie and her parents during this stressful time, it would be greatly appreciated. Any well-wishes and positive vibes are also welcomed.
