Donation protected
Machel recently completed a long day of tests and appointments at MD Anderson in Houston, and she has some encouraging news to share! Her treatment is showing positive results, with her lymph nodes shrinking by 50%. This significant reduction will help make her upcoming surgery much easier.
The surgery is necessary to remove all lymph nodes affected by cancer, along with ensuring clear borders to minimize the chance of recurrence. While the current treatment effectively slows the growth of the cancer, it is not a guaranteed cure. If the cancer does return in the future, there will be other treatment options available to her.
Recovery is expected to take about six weeks, and she will have a wound vac for seven days to help prevent infection. Additionally, she will need to administer blood-thinning shots to herself and take pain medication, which means she won’t be able to drive during this time. She plans to return to MD Anderson for a follow-up in three weeks to learn more about her pathology and the next steps.
She is incredibly grateful for all the prayers and support she has received. She feels truly blessed and is confident that everything is in God’s hands.
Thank you all for your continued love and encouragement! ❤️
