Support Maarva's Life-Saving Heart Surgery
Donation protected
Save Maarva. Our family rescued a 3-month old puppy a few weeks ago, named her Maarva after one of our favorite Star Wars characters, and brought her home to two adoring young girls. It turns out, Maarva showed a significant, grade 3 heart murmur at her first exam.
After additional testing, we learned she has a congenital heart defect known as Patent Ductus Arteriosus, or PDA, which means a valve that is supposed to shut down after birth for the appropriate functioning of her heart did not do so. With no intervention, Maarva's life will be short. Our family isn't going to let that happen, but we will have significant bills to pay as a result. The surgery required to fix her heart and ensure a long, happy life with her new family will be somewhere between $5,000 and $8,000, in addition to ongoing medication and recovery scans and testing. I will update this story when we know more.
Every dollar you choose to donate is another healthy beat in her heart, and you will have a place there forever.
