Lyuba is 33 years old. She’s a mother of two young daughters. And she just survived a massive hemorrhagic stroke.
What began as a normal day ended with Lyuba in the ICU, fighting for her life. She came home from work, was resting on the couch, then our world changed. She had massive pain in her back and head, then started vomiting.
We rushed her to the hospital where the doctor told us she had a ruptured AVM, an abnormal cluster of blood vessels in her brain, caused a sudden and devastating brain bleed. Doctors inserted a drain into her skull to relieve the pressure, and for several days, her condition was critical.
She could barely open her eyes or speak. But thanks to incredible care and her own strength, Lyuba is now awake and making early progress. She’s stood up with support, she’s speaking again, and she’s fighting to regain control of her body. But the road ahead is long. She will need months of rehabilitation, follow-up treatment for the AVM, and daily support from her family.
We’re raising $30,000 to help cover her ongoing medical care, physical therapy, time away from work, travel costs for her mother to come from abroad to help with our children and basic needs while our family focuses completely on her recovery. Anything you can give will go directly toward helping Lyuba heal and making sure her daughters have their mother back, stronger than ever.
Thank you for reading, sharing, and supporting.
