My name is Sam, and I am fundraising on behalf of my dear friend, Lynsey, who is living through every parent's worst nightmare.

On 28 June, her beloved son, Josh, was critically injured in a hit-and-run road traffic collision in London, a tragedy that has since received widespread media coverage.

Josh is a university student in London studying Fashion Journalism, pursuing a future he is deeply passionate about. He is currently on life support, and his future remains uncertain.

As a single mum of three, Lynsey is now facing an impossible situation. While desperately wanting to remain by her son's bedside in London, she also has two young children at home in Warrington who need their mum. She must divide her time between London and home, making regular journeys while trying to support all three of her children.

Josh's two younger brothers remain at home in Warrington, where their grandparents are helping to care for them whenever needed. Together, they are trying to navigate this devastating time, while the boys continue to pray for their big brother and miss him dearly. At the same time, the costs of travel, accommodation, parking, meals and caring for the younger children continue to mount every day, placing an enormous financial strain on a family already experiencing unimaginable heartbreak.

I will be helping her in every way I can, but no one should have to face this alone. I have created this fundraiser to help relieve some of the financial pressure, allowing her to focus on what matters most: being there for her son while continuing to care for her other two children.

We honestly never imagined the fundraiser would receive this level of support.

Thanks to your incredible kindness and generosity, we have now raised over £5,500 for Lynsey and her family. Every donation, every share, every message and every prayer has reminded them that they are not facing this alone.

Josh remains in critical care and continues to receive specialist treatment. Sadly, there have been recent setbacks. A planned operation had to be postponed after medical complications meant it was no longer safe to proceed. His medical team are continuing to monitor him closely and hope to carry out surgery when his condition is stable enough.

Your support is helping to ease the financial burden of travelling between Warrington and London, accommodation, meals and other essential costs. It means Lynsey can continue to be the best mum she can be to all three of her amazing boys while supporting Josh's two younger brothers through this unimaginable shock.
