Support Lynn's Journey with Dignity
Donation protected
Some of you may be aware that my mother, Lynn, has dementia, and has been moved into a skilled nursing home in Portland. Following her stroke, I got myself up to Portland to help oversee her care. As you also may know, costs for caregiving can be very taxing for family. A skilled nursing home is a challenging environment for my mom. It can be lonely, isolating and disorienting. Thankfully, her basic care is covered by Medicaid, but this does not include adult day services and additional support to help her feel less alone.
I am looking to raise additional contributions to help offset these costs for my mom to be in adult day services. This provides her with connection and a group experience. We’re doing our best to provide my mom with as much dignity during her dementia journey as possible.
Any donation, however small, is appreciated. My mother was a very active volunteer and donated to many charities and causes; now is a time for her to receive support that she so generously gave to so many people over the years. Thank you. Your support helps me focus on my work to support those addressing climate and environmental crises.
A monthly donation would go a very long way towards relieving financial pressure.
