Support Lynn Peterson's Store Rebuilding Efforts

Back in October Kevin had a strong urge to head south and go help the people of North Carolina who were devastated by Hurricane Helene. So, we packed up our side-by-side and away we went. However, nothing could have prepared us for the utter devastation we saw once we got there. Some people lost some, some lost everything including family and friends. We spent the next week completely heartbroken for these people, doing whatever we could to help in any way.

During the last 2-3 days of our time there we had the privilege of meeting one amazing man, Lynn Peterson, who had a family-owned business that was completely washed away by the flood. When we first arrived to deliver fuel to Mr. Peterson, you could tell right away that he was a man of God and very protective of his community, somewhat guarded even, but in no time we struck up a conversation and went to work helping him hand dig through what was left of his general store. We spent the next few days working with Mr. Peterson and vowed to return to NC to help him rebuild his beloved general store for his family and his community.

Kevin and I are starting this GoFundMe to help raise money to be able to buy building supplies that will help Mr. Peterson rebuild. There is a larger GoFundMe that is already set up, but we are hoping to raise money for the many last-minute, smaller items that often arise when tackling a project of this size. Our plan is to return to Huntdale, NC within the next month or so and help Lynn start the rebuilding process. We have been in contact with Lynn, and he has provided Kevin with a list of building supplies still needed. This is what the money would be used for.

Please know that we will be excellent stewards of your donations and will provide many updates through this link on what the money is being used for. Travel expenses will be completely out of pocket for Kevin and I. None of this money will be used for travel expenses.
