Support The Powell-Fincannon Family During Dad’s Final Days
Donation protected
Hello everyone, My name is Alicia and I am the best friend to Lyndsay Powell. Lyndsay is one of the most loving, selfless and dedicated people I know. We have been friends for over 20 years and Lyndsay and her family need our help!
Lyndsay is married to Chip and they have one son, Seth (14). They have been challenged with a journey I wish on no one. Chip was diagnosed with a rare brain cancer nearly 8 years ago. Initially when diagnosed Chip was only given 6 months to live! Chip has faught long and hard. During his journey he has had 3 brain surgeries to remove tumors. After each surgery the tumors have come back quicker each time. After his most recent surgery tumors were found again in less than 6 months. They continued through vigorous and harsh treatment trying to beat the cancer and give Chip more time. This past January chips largest tumor measured less that 1mm, in less than 6 weeks from that measurement the tumor had grown to over 12mm. With this new devastating news the doctors now decided treatment wasn’t working and it was time to accept the inevitable and go on hospice care. Chip began hospice care in March of this year (2024) and in the last month he has steadily declined at a rapid rate.
Lyndsay is a nurse and the sole provider for the family. With Chip’s current state Lyndsay is up all hours of the night with him caring for him, assisting him and trying to help calm him. She then has to go to work and “try” to work a full day all while remaining stressed and high anxiety worried about Chip all day. Seth their son has done everything he can to help. He has missed a lot of school due to being up at night helping his mom with dad. No matter who sits with Chip during the day he still wants Lyndsay and genuinely only trusts her to care for him. Chip is now wheel chair bound and solely dependent on others to help him with everyday activities: eating, dressing, showering, bathroom visits etc. We do not think he has much time and hospice agrees. They are now stating they believe he has less than a month.
So why am I creating this go fund me? I am praying that you will each read this and take a moment to pray about helping this family. I will tell you what you can do….donate any amount of money to this precious family so that they can cover their bills during these last days of Chip’s life and Lyndsay can stay home to care and try her best to cherish what she has left with the love of her life! No amount is too small! Every penny will go straight to their family to simply provide a means for Lyndsay to remain home until the good lord calls Chip home!!!
Thank you and God Bless!!! Cancer sucks!!!
