Hi, my name is Lindsay and I'd like to talk to you about my cat, Lyla. Lyla was found at approximately 4 weeks of age in the backyard of a friend's home. Thinking her mother would come back for her, they waited all day. She cried the entire time, but her mother never returned. It began raining, and they worried she would get too cold, so they decided to bring her inside. They called me asking if I could find her a home. I took her in immediately. She was so tiny she fit in my hand. Let me tell you, I've never met a cat that warmed up to people so quickly and completely. She spent a great deal of time inside my shirt or curled under my chin. I did initially attempt to find her a home, but she very quickly worked her way into my heart. This cat means everything to me. She sleeps under the covers tucked into my side or chest every night. She grooms my face and makes biscuits in my lap. She cries to be picked up and carried around. I can do most household chores holding Lyla on my shoulder. I've never met a cat like her. She has been in my life for a year and a half, and I can't even fathom her not being there for years to come.
Unfortunately, Lyla has a life-threatening intestinal blockage caused by a foreign body that requires surgery to save her life. The estimate for this surgery is currently $7000 - $9000. This is well beyond any amount I've been able or would be able to save, as it is a significant amount of my yearly income. I'm sure you've heard it before, but Lyla is my absolute baby. She is more than a pet to me. She is my heart and soul. I'm truly begging for any help you'd be willing to give. Please help me save her.
