These donations have been a blessing and we’ve had help picking the bed up getting the mattress, so we used our donations for the bed and the commode and were given a shower chair from my friend and her family!!! We are almost ready but could still use financial support for a couple more items. We appreciate you all so much! The surgery is coming up fast! Thank you everyone!
Lyla is a bright and energetic six-year-old who just started kindergarten. She loves gym class and playtime with her friends, and dreams of joining dance someday if her health allows. Recently, Lyla was diagnosed with hip dysplasia and now faces a major surgery April 22nd. Her recovery will be a long road, with 6-8 weeks of complete immobility in a large cast from the ribs down, followed by several weeks of learning to walk again.
To help Lyla heal comfortably and safely, our family needs to purchase specialized medical equipment that insurance won’t cover. She’ll need a wheelchair that allows her leg to be elevated, a hospital bed for home recovery, and a walker for her rehabilitation. These items are essential for her comfort and progress, and we hope to have them ready by mid-April when her recovery begins.
Our family is doing our best to support Lyla through this challenge, but we’re facing extra difficulties. I am only able to work part time due to my own health issues and recent surgery, and I also care for Lyla’s ten-month-old sister, Rosie. With Lyla needing full-time care during her recovery, we’re reaching out for help to make sure she has everything she needs. Any support will make a real difference for Lyla and our family as we navigate this journey together.
