Recent Update: I am beyond thankful for all the prayers and donations! I have finally received answers, a diagnosis and treatment. I attended therapy at the Mayo Clinic in FL. They were the experts and taught me how to manage my new condition. Thankyou again for all the encouragement and prayers.
Intro:
My name is Lydiaruth Thompson. Those of you who are unfamiliar with my story, I have been severely ill for several months. This has included about 30 unexplained non epileptic seizures, reactions, rashes, tiredness, fatigued, confusion, mental fog amongst other symptoms. I have been hospitalized about 6 times now within the past 9 months as well as have had many ambulance rides ($1,000 each!!). I have been an impatient as well as the Greenville Memorial Hospital for four days.
My health has put me out of work, unable to drive and it has limited me daily. Therefore, finances have been incredible tight and difficult! Through generous donations, I have been able to slowly take care of all my medical bills!!
After seeing several doctors in my hometown, none were able to help me nor diagnosis me. Therefore, my pulmonologist was kind enough to write me a referral to a Research hospital. I have been starting to get treatment at the Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville FL. After being a part of a testing/research program (7T Tesla MRI, 72 hr EEG head wrap), I finally have a DIAGNOSIS!!!!
I have been diagnosed with a very rare and unfortunately incurable disorder. It is a “Central Nervous System Disorder, disorder. This is a physiological disorder, not psychological. It is a condition where my brain has created incorrect pathways. We do not know what has caused this as this condition can be caused by various things (child birth, toxin exposure, a car accident, trauma etc.) However, my family and I are certain this was due to the duplex home I used to live in, where many molds were found.
It has been a hard and frustrating journey. However, I am so thankful for the friends, family and financial support I have received through donations. I have been being treated in FL at the Mayo Clinic. I will be able to partake in a In-depth, intense 3 week therapy, Cogntive Therapy, at the Pain Rehab Center in Jacksonville, FL. Though this will not cure my condition, it will help and teach me how to manage a functional life with this new diagnosis! It will help me to have a somewhat normal life again and the ability to be more independent. The therapy costs $30,000. I am not sure how much insurance will cover at this point but I would greatly appreciate any financial assistance. (I’d like to remind those who donate, this money is placed into an isolated account only intended for my medical care. I do not take these donations lightly and utilize these funds with discretion.)
We will go through many things in life that we won’t understand. We will suffer from things that are incredibly hard, confusing, scary and at times debilitating. Whatever happens, it is crucial to have a positive mindset. Have a mindset of, this is not your fault, there is nobody or no specific thing to blame. We live in a sinful, dark world. Due to this, we suffer from sicknesses, death, loss, poverty and other things. God has been my strength-hold and Has provided me with so much comfort and peace. I still love Him and trust Him with my whole heart. Thankyou for all your support, love, prayers, encouragement and thoughtfulness.
