My name is Lydell “Rocket” Dyess, and many of you may know me from the Sonic website or through my sponsorships with Dr. Pepper and Sonic, where I’ve had the honor of placing in the Sonic games each year I participated. My passion for skating, writing songs, and mentoring others through difficult times has been recognized by people around the world. I’ve always tried to give back and support my community whenever I could.

Recently, my life took an unexpected turn. I had to undergo emergency surgery to remove a colon mass and have a resection. This was a difficult and frightening experience, and it has left me unable to do physical work or drive for a while. On top of this, I just moved into a new apartment, which has added to the challenges I’m facing. My work with DoorDash gave me the flexibility to support myself and my two children, but unfortunately, it doesn’t provide benefits, so I am unable to earn income while I recover.

I am reaching out for help to relieve the stress of trying to find other employment while I heal. Your support will help me pay bills, buy food, and focus on my recovery without the constant worry of making ends meet.
