Support Lyda's Healing and Recovery Journey

Hello there, my name is Jennifer Johnson and I’m the daughter of Lyda. Back in Nov she under went a surgery for her vascular veins to try and clear them for better blood circulation and it was unsuccessful. So the only decision left was to amputate. On Dec 19 2024 she underwent a lower left leg below the knee amputation. the surgery itself was successful but the wound is still trying to heal. Right after surgery she went over 2.5 hours without pain medication and it was the worse experience I’ve ever had to witness and not be able to do anything about it. On Dec 28 she was discharged from the hospital and sent to NHC locally here in Knoxville. The days leading up to discharge she was experiencing some complications with emptying her bladder and delirium. So we thought maybe it was from the drugs she was on to manage pain. As days went by and she moved to the NHC she began to become even more delusional with hallucinations. On Thursday January 2, 2025 I got the wore call from NHC to hat she was in respiratory distress and they were calling EMS. We get to the ER and her behavior was erratic hallucinating, very sick and bleeding internally. Her potassium was too high sodium to low INT was at a 7 her Creatintin was at an 8 and she was fully septic! They moved her to CCU and Her air way began to close so they had to put her on a ventilator! At this time we just knew this was bad and could lose her. Luckily we have a great team of Drs RNs etc that worked around the clock to save my mom! I give all glory to God and handed it all over to him because I knew I couldn’t do anything to help her but pray! I began reaching out to people to pray and be very specific. We still have a long road ahead of us with organ recovery and then rehab for her leg but she is alive and doing well considering! This go fund me is to help with her medical bills that her insurance will not pay! These are for bills that have come in from the previous procedure that she won’t be able to pay. It doesn't matter the amount you give and if you can’t give that’s okay too, continues prayers are very much appreciated!
