Support Luz Flores' Long Road to Recovery

Hello All,

Many of you may know me as Little Luz or Daniella but Luz Flores is my mother. I have a younger brother Fernando Flores. I added a new addition and made Luz a Mimi a year ago to a chunky baby girl that she loves so dearly. My mom became a single mother 8 years ago where we had to watch her learn and provide for us from literally nothing to our names but a vehicle. After then it was our time to learn how to maintain our lives with out my mother as our main figure at home and now as the provider she had to become. No matter the cards dealt she made it to every game, ceremony or event that ever took place. She had worn every hat in the book and played each role with such grace and dignity as if it was her second nature. She put me in my brother, who graduates from high school this May through schools in areas she couldn’t really afford with just hopes we’d make better choices for our lives. I couldn’t imagine my life with out her. My mom is the definition of selfless which is why this occurrence is so tragic to our little family.

On Sunday, April 27th, around 10:30 pm, my mom suffered from a life-threatening scooter accident in Downtown Oklahoma City, which resulted in one of the scariest nights of my life. That evening, my mom sustained two internal hemorrhages near her brain, which was probably the most severe trauma she had ever experienced. Along with the internal bleeding, she obtained a broken nose and severe fracture to her jaw which also cause severe skin and teeth loss.

Besides seeing my mother in critical condition that night, this has to have been the hardest & worst thing to watch—the woman that keeps us so grounded in so much pain that it’s unbearable to be awake most of the day. The most life-altering thing for her. She will be having to learn how to do basic day to day things again. I say this with the most heaviest heart, but the road to recovery for my mother will be very long and slow. The donations will be going to the reconstruction of her face and the remaining medical bills she will pay.

Knowing my mom, Luz, is loving her and seeing how dedicated she is to the ones she loves. The most humble woman you’d ever meet but one that stands high and strong on what she believes in. Her beauty will remain untouched because her heart is safe. The amount of love she has already received from the ones around her warms my heart. Knowing that her love is appreciated and her presence is a blessing. I just thank god for allowing me to keep my mommy in one piece. Thank you all for taking the time to read.
I love you mommy.
