Support Lux's Journey to a Pain-Free Life

Hi, my name is Skylar, and I'm reaching out to you with an urgent plea to help the sweetest boy get the critical dental care he desperately needs. Meet Lux, a resilient and loving dog who has already endured more than any animal should.

A few months ago, Lux was heartlessly abandoned at a high-kill shelter after suffering severe injuries to his eye and mouth. His eyelids were painfully curling into his eye, and he had several broken teeth. We don't know exactly what happened to him, but it's clear that whoever left him did not care for his wellbeing. Because of the condition of his face, the shelter put Lux on the euthanasia list, sealing his fate unless a miracle happened.

That miracle came in the form of a dedicated group of rescuers, including Appalachian K9 Rescue, myself, Husky Networkers, and an amazing foster family. Together, we saved Lux from a tragic end. On May 16, 2024, Lux was officially freed from the shelter and given a second chance at life.

Since then, Lux has been thriving in his foster home, surrounded by love and care. He has formed an incredible bond with his foster brother, Jax, who adores him and gets sad whenever Lux has to leave for his medical appointments. The two have become inseparable, playing and cuddling together every day. Lux has also learned to love his cat sisters, showing just how gentle and affectionate he truly is.

However, Lux's journey to recovery isn't over yet. While we've been able to neuter him and begin the process of fixing his eyelids, Lux still faces significant dental issues. He has been diagnosed with double entropion, a condition where his eyelids roll inward, causing irritation and discomfort. Additionally, he needs several teeth pulled to relieve his pain and prevent further health complications.

Lux's medical bills are mounting, with an estimated cost of at least $1,200 for the necessary dental procedures. We are turning to our friends, family, and compassionate strangers like you to help us cover these expenses and give Lux the happy, pain-free life he deserves.
