Paying it forward! I’m raising funds to help the victims of the Luther wildfires that happened on Friday, March 14. Families have lost their homes and a couple have lost their livelihoods. In 2012, I suffered the same emergency and lost everything in a house fire. My community loved me, prayed for me, and raise me up to be able to start again.
100% of the raised funds will go to fire victims in Luther. I will donate the fees to cover whatever GoFundMe charges. I am in contact with the local fire department to get a list of those affected. I will also post all transactions for complete transparency.
gof fund me asked me to clarify a few things:
To answer your questions: I am not related biologically or by marriage to any of the people that I was raising money for. It is for my community who had lost their homes in a fire three days before I started the GoFundMe. They are in the same boat that I was and I wanted to help out.
I was going to withdraw the funds and distribute them to the people that are still needing help. It’s only $575 in that account so I was going to withdraw it and distribute it myself.
There is a Red Cross team still on site in Luther, Oklahoma and I was gonna go find out if anyone was needing that money so that I could hand it to them. I was going to add the fees that are taken out by your company when I withdraw the money so that all of the money that was raised actually goes to the fire victims.
Please help me help them! Share widely!
