On August 9th, our mother/mother-in-law, Lupe Arenas, was hit by a motorcycle while getting out of her van. She was rushed to the hospital and is now facing a long and uncertain road to recovery.

She has already spent 5 days in the neuro icu with a spinal cord injury and still requires ongoing medical care and physical therapy. On top of the growing medical bills, she doesn’t know when she’ll be able to return to work, which makes this time even more stressful. She will eventually need surgery.

To make matters harder, the driver who hit her did not have insurance or even a valid driver’s license. She even spoke with lawyers, but they explained that unfortunately there’s nothing they can do because he has no assets or coverage. This has left her completely on her own to handle the costs.

We are reaching out to our community for help. Every donation, no matter the size, will go directly toward covering her medical bills, recovery costs, and daily needs until she is back on her feet.
