Hello, My name is Crystal and normally I would never ask for help like this. Our sweet 3 year old Boston terrier, Luna, was rushed to the emergency vet this morning around 4am. She woke me up vomiting and couldn’t walk. Her heart rate was racing and she was uncontrollably shaking. We had to leave her at the vet for monitoring and testing all of her vitals as well as trying to stabilize her from her tremors. Since being in medical care, they have had to intubate her to keep her from inhaling her own regurgitation. After multiple tests, her tremors were still a huge scare and concern for them. After pumping her stomach, they found pieces of a mushroom that could be a possible origin of why she was having these symptoms. But because of all of her symptoms being so sudden and severe they wanted to rule any other possible underlying infections or diseases. We went through with the MRI to rule out any inflammation on the brain as well as meningitis. Her MRI results came back promising that no tumors or masses are present which is wonderful news but we are still waiting on the cerebrospinal fluid analysis. Hopefully, the results of the analysis are positive, if not, we are unaware of the next step at this moment. If they are positive, they will slowly be waking her up and observing her current symptoms as well as if she will be able to breathe and swallow on her own.

With this being said, we are devastated but also trying to stay positive and hopeful. Earlier this morning, they were stating she had a 50/50 chance of survival and we are looking at the glass half full rather than empty.

At this Point, for all of her treatments, scans, bloodwork, medication and hospital stay. We are looking at an $9000 plus medical bill, with or without her coming home to us. We are staying positive that we will be reunited with our sweet baby girl. We will keep updating on Luna’s progression as well as prognosis.

I know this is a lot to ask and it’s so hard to write this but anything and everything helps. Even the littlest bit. Thank you for the ongoing support, encouraging words and love from our family and friends. We couldn’t do this without you.
