Support Luna Clémintine's Medical Recovery

Let’s help Luna drum up funds to cover her medical expenses! On Wednesday, March 25, 2025 Luna Clémintine was nearly killed when a giant 53 foot Gumbo Limbo tree fell on her & Solomon while she was sitting on a tree swing underneath it with her dogs.

At the time of the accident, she was with her partner Solomon saying goodbye to their family dog Trooper, who had terminal cancer & had to be put to sleep the next day. She moved to pet Trooper at the time the tree fell & avoided a more direct hit which would have killed her. Still, she was knocked unconscious & suffered injuries to her head & hands, bleeding from her skull into her mouth.

When she woke up, she couldn’t open her eyes & is still dealing with a painful concussion & memory loss.

Since she is a musician, the injuries to her hands mean that she will be unable to work playing guitar as she recovers. She’ll be unable to play her solo music gigs that pay her rent, utilities & groceries.

Luna was also dropped from her health insurance after being flagged for the same cancer her mom & grandma had. She is still undergoing cancer screening tests that are also adding to the hospital bills.

Luna is without any health insurance & being confronted with about $33,000 of medical bills from the accident for brain scans, x-rays & after hour emergency room care. Now on top of that more cancer screening exams are piling on to that debt.

Luna is one of the most caring people I’ve ever met, always focusing so much energy on those in need! Luna has rescued wildlife for 22 years with a focus on howler monkeys & sloths that have been unhomed from wildfires in the jungles of Costa Rica. She’s also rescued coastal birds, raccoons & sea turtles throughout Saint Augustine & the Florida Keys.

Luna’s such an inspiring creative loving light in the world. Luna’s music with her duo band Coconut Koalas have been soothing souls in Key West for almost 6 years. Thank goodness our little songbird is still with us. Now is our chance to pay it back!
