This is the story of Luna Bear or Luna Rae, depending on the day.
I got her when she was 16 weeks old and her name was Phoebe. I didn't want a dog at the time, but my mom told me she needed a home. I met her and fell in love. She's been my sidekick for the last 6 years. She's only 6.5. Unfortunately, even though she's very young, she hurt one of her legs in 2023, and the last 2 years she's been on the struggle bus. She currently needs a double knee surgery and is battling a bad UTI and has lost 20 lbs in 4 months. She's been to the vet, to the specialist. She has severe arthritis at this point, and antibiotics aren't doing much. We can't afford hospitalization. It's also not guaranteed to work. She hates the vet. I don't want the end to be stressful. We call her the chronic cat snuggler because the cats are always with her. I have so many pictures over the years of her with cats. She LOVES them. I want her done at home, in a safe space where her fur siblings can say bye too. If anyone can help, I'd appreciate it. I don't want her to suffer anymore. She deserves to rest. It's at the point that I can't leave her at home alone and have to keep her relaxed and basically sedated on pain meds and hemp oil, or we get complaints from neighbors. They already called the cops once.
We go through Paws Upon the Heart for cremation. We have 3 options for the in-home procedure, but it depends on when we get the money for it. We will make the arrangement.
