Support Lumen's Journey Towards Mobility
Donation protected
Hi friends,
As many of you know, Lumen has been having ongoing challenges due to compressed discs and severe arthritis in her spine. We have been doing everything we can to not only keep her comfortable and extend her quality of life, but to try as many therapies as possible to keep her from losing mobility and ending up in a wheelchair.
Unfortunately, this has been extremely costly and we are struggling to afford everything she needs, so we are reaching out to ask for help If anyone would like to donate towards Lumen’s ongoing medical care, we would be incredibly grateful!!! Every little bit helps
We have a current vet balance of $2,054.81 at the moment. Between the cost of X-rays and diagnostics, VOM treatments, cold laser etc., it has added up quickly.
She has also been getting accucurrent treatments with my acupuncturist as well as daily cold laser treatments at home. Unfortunately, the laser probe we need for her spine broke, and we had to send it off to be repaired and pay for a rental to use for the time being. As well as do some treatments at our vet before the rental came in at $80 per session. Just her medications alone, cost $253.76 a month
Before bringing Lumen back home, I have been going through my own long-term health battle. After having extensive diagnostics, surgery, medications and treatments, these past two years, leaving me with a ton of medical debt of my own. I had to leave my job managing the vet clinic due to my severe health issues, and unfortunately, I am not able to make as much money working from home, and we haven’t had the vet discount like I used to a few years ago.
We are also still paying on a huge loan we had to take out to save our dog Guinness at the beginning of January via an emergency splenectomy. Sadly it turned out to be very aggressive cancer and we lost him a few months later.
Michael and I are also eloping in a few months, and because of Lumen’s special needs, it is going to cost $500 for her to be boarded with someone that can meet her care needs while we are gone.
We are barely keeping our heads above water and we hate asking for help, but we know it’s necessary for us to continue to provide Lumen with the care she needs.
Any amount, big or small, can help us give Lumen the medical care she needs to maintain her mobility. Thank you so much to everyone that has been here for Lumen’s amazing journey, making it to 7 years old!! She couldn’t have made it this far without you all! Thank you for all the amazing love and support to give this beautiful unicorn her best life!
