Hello! My name is Lisa and I am reaching out for support in acquiring funds for our dog Lulu’s medical necessities.
Lulu is my partner's 13-year-old Pomeranian. She has been in his family since she was a puppy and was recently in an accident. We had noticed she was not moving or eating. She would stand at the door crying for hours. She was not putting any weight on her back right leg, and it was scrunched up at an angle. We immediately booked her for an urgent care appointment on the weekend and she was seen this Monday. The veterinarians at Oregon Humane Society instantly fell in love with her. They let us know she had a severe dislocation and recommended an amputation of the whole leg, or a Femoral Head Ostectomy (FHO). Ultimately, we opted for the FHO as we wanted her to prance around like she has always done and did not think it would be in her best interest to lose her whole leg.
Between my partner and me, we have 4 amazing dogs who have all decided to have issues in the same two months and the bills have racked up. Lulu's surgery alone was $2100 with OHS’s low-income assistance program. We would appreciate any help in catching up with these bills.
Lulu had her surgery this Tuesday and she is recovering smoothly. She had a large mass on her stomach that the doctors removed for free! She has many more years of life to live and we are happy she is feeling better.
Thanks again for your time and thank you for reading her story.
