Support Lulu's Fight Against Hodgkin's Lymphoma
Donation protected
Two months ago, on September 14th, I underwent an MRI to investigate persistent pain I had been experiencing. The MRI revealed a mass in my mediastinal region, which led to a chest CT and a PET scan. The scans identified two masses that suggested lymphoma. I then underwent two biopsies—the first was inconclusive, but the second confirmed the diagnosis of Classical Hodgkin’s Lymphoma, Early Stage 1B.
I will begin combination chemotherapy treatment at Dana-Farber on November 21st, with sessions every other week for four rounds. Afterward, a PET scan will evaluate my body’s response to the treatment. The results of this scan will determine the next steps: I may either continue with the standard treatment for two more months or be randomly chosen to start a trial drug for three months.
Prior to my diagnosis, I was managing full-time school alongside working to cover my living expenses, including paying for rent and utilities on my own. However, with the onset of chemotherapy and the physical and emotional toll it takes, continuing to work and balance school will become increasingly difficult. The uncertainty surrounding my income and ability to manage living expenses is something I hadn’t anticipated nor really had the time to figure out due to how quickly this has all happened. I’ve needed to prioritize getting a diagnosis and finding the right treatment plan, which required numerous appointments with different oncologists. In addition to the medical costs and travel expenses I will endure during this time, living expenses is an area that I have recognized I will need additional support with. Any help would make a tremendous difference during this time, as these costs are vital, but have been difficult to manage and prioritize when my health has been compromised.
As we embark on this journey, the financial challenges will inevitably become overwhelming. While we are incredibly thankful for the support we've already received, I humbly ask for any assistance you can offer during this challenging time. Your contributions—whether through donations or by sharing this campaign—will help alleviate the financial burden and allow me to focus on my health and recovery. Every bit of support, no matter how big or small, is a step closer to healing. From the bottom of my heart, thank you for your continued love, encouragement, and generosity.
