Support LuLu's Battle Against Leukemia
Donation protected
Hello, my name is DeeDee. I am a Texas Police Officer and proud mother and grandmother.
Elizabeth (LuLu) is my beautiful, smart, and silly granddaughter who turned 5 in November, just after being diagnosed with leukemia in October 2024.
Kendall is my oldest daughter and Lu's mommy. She had just gone through a traumatic series of events that eventually led to a divorce and moved back to our hometown in Glen Rose.
Kendall took the loss graciously and moved into a teeny tiny house so she could be debt-free until her business as a photographer took off.
Ellie is Lu's older 6-year-old sister and best friend. The girls and Kendall were optimistic and having lots of fun in their new home when tragedy struck.
Kendall and the girls went to Dairy Queen, and Lu took a fall, causing her to limp with a hurt leg. Lu told me that she had a 'pushed muscle.'
Within a few days, Lu was crying out in pain and unable to sleep due to the excruciating pain.
Kendall was advised to take Lu to Children's Hospital because little ones don't tend to have pulled muscles, ligaments, or tendons.
Blood work was done. Lu was admitted with a bone marrow biopsy done.
The unexpected life-changing tragic diagnosis was revealed... Lu had ALL leukemia. :(
How could this be? She was bouncing around, running around, happy and joyful! All this came to a sudden halt when the effects of her chemo meds hit. She was lethargic, angry, sad, and laid in her bed and stared at the walls.
Throughout the chemo journey, Lu has had joyful happy highs and alarming weight loss, weakness, and sickness.
Those who have experienced the chemo yo-yo journey all understand.
My daughter Kendall is very prideful and has done the best she can with providing for the girls along the way.
Unfortunately, she receives little to no child support and is sadly struggling to make ends meet.
Her court date to have child support increased keeps getting pushed back. Her photography business is not taking flight as she had hoped.
Kendall is unable to seek employment because she needs to be home with Lu to care for and protect Lu's immune system.
I and a few others have helped financially, but it's not enough. Kendall sold her newer vehicle and purchased an older vehicle to get a little cash back.
How she has made it 6 months with little to nothing is only by the Lord's grace.
Kendall and the girls have leaned on the Lord throughout this journey and are truly an inspiration to us all.
Please follow Lu's story via Facebook 'Lu Lu Strong' and be inspired.
I am starting this GoFundMe page because my girls need your help financially. Not for extras but for basic needs.
If you feel inclined to help, your financial support is beyond appreciated.
Thank you in advance for the financial assistance, thoughts, and prayers for our precious little Lu and family.
