Mission Statement
This past January, wildfires tore through Altadena, CA — my hometown. I remember stepping outside and seeing the sky stained orange. That moment—that panic—stuck with me. My name is Luke Harris, and I’m writing and directing a short film called Altadena, California.

Funds raised here would go towards equipment rentals, actors, set design, editing, and would make it possible to create this film with the authenticity and respect it calls for.

The Story
This film is a story about a teenager, Leon, trying to hold it all together after a wildfire forces him and his family to evacuate. But really it’s about what happens when you fear losing everything -except the pain you were already carrying.

The fires hit the night of Leon's big high school graduation party, and forces him away from the night with his friends that he had dreamed of. When the dust and ash settles, he tries to recreate that night amidst the chaos, but realizes quickly he must confront the chaos going on inside first.

We’re raising funds to bring this story to life with authenticity and care. If you believe in stories that reflect what people are really going through in times of struggle — this is the kind of film that needs your support.
