My best friend, Luke, and his wife, Maya, are struggling financially with all of the medical bills stacking up pre surgery, and they are anticipating more after the surgery. His wife has Chronic Kidney Disease. The good news is she has a donor and is undergoing a transplant surgery on April 29th. They are involved in a "paired exchange" program at Ochsner Medical Center in New Orleans. Luke will be donating one of his kidneys to a person in need, so that in exchange, his wife will receive a kidney she desperately needs.
