Support Luisa To Beat Pancreatic Cancer
Donation protected
Luisa has been battling pancreatic cancer for over 3 years. When diagnosed March 17, 2021, the family was told, pray for the best prepare for the worst. She was given approximately 6 months to live with the treatments that were available at that time.
October 2021, Luisa did a medical trial (SBRT)at Princess Margaret Hospital. This, in addition to multiple rounds of chemotherapy and radiation has prevented the tumour from growing and spreading. However, in the last year the tumour has started to grow.
Unfortunately, Canada no longer has any treatment options and the only hope she has is going to a specialized pancreatic treatment centre in Portugal. There, they will complete a pancreatectomy to remove the cancer. At this time she is an excellent candidate for this treatment and is healthy enough to travel, but time is limited. Without further treatment she's been given weeks to live, and with chemo pills, months.
Any funds raised will go towards this surgery, traveling expenses and the recovery she will require post surgery, which is anticipated to be a minimum of one month.
Anyone that knows Luisa, knows, that she is always more than happy to help others in need; even though she's faced many challenges throughout her life. For many years Luisa was a foster mom, volunteered at many local senior facilities for decades and every year donates to many social causes in the community...if there is anyone that has paid it forward, it's this WOMAN!
Luisa's faith is strong...keep those prayers coming.
On behalf of her children, Julie and Tyler, they appreciate any donation big or small. It takes a village, right?
Thank you for reading.
