Luis Romero has been an essential part of the Blend Bar kitchen for the past four years. He is one of our chefs, creating incredible meals for our guests and bringing our team together by cooking family dinners. Luis keeps spirits high with his sense of humor—even during tough times. He’s the kind of person who always puts others first, sending much of his earnings back home to support his family in El Salvador.

We love Luis and all the wonderful experiences he brings to our staff and customers. His dedication, warmth, and talent have made a lasting impact on everyone at Blend Bar.

Recently, Luis’s mother, Rosa Emilia De Romero, suffered a serious injury and now needs an open reduction and internal fixation hip surgery. This has been a devastating blow, especially since right before this happened, he finally after 20 years bought a reliable car. Despite being a U.S. citizen and working tirelessly, Luis is always stretched thin financially because he supports his loved ones. Now, with his mother’s surgery and travel expenses, the costs are overwhelming, and insurance won’t cover everything.

We’re coming together to help Luis be with his mother during her surgery and to support the medical costs she’s facing. Every contribution will go directly toward her care and helping Luis travel to El Salvador to be by her side.
