Luis Esquivel has been a dedicated presence in the Summit community for over 20 years. Through his tireless work caring for our homes and gardens, Luis has become more than just a landscaper—he has become a friend to many, always there in case of emergency and ready to lend a helping hand. His commitment and kindness have touched countless lives, making him a beloved member of our community.

In recent years, Luis has faced serious health challenges. Despite frequent hospital stays and ongoing treatments, he has continued to show up for his clients, always putting their needs ahead of his own. Recently, Luis learned that his heart has been severely weakened. His doctors, Dr. Kipperman and Dr. Singh, have advised that he begin an expensive course of medication not covered by insurance before undergoing a critical surgery in the coming months. They’ve also stressed that he must avoid heavy lifting and reduce his workload—something that’s nearly impossible in his physically demanding profession.

Even with support from his landscaping crew and while applying for financial assistance through Morristown Memorial Hospital, Luis faces months without the income he relies on. His recovery will put a significant strain on his finances and quickly deplete his personal savings. Now, it’s our turn to support him. We’ve launched this GoFundMe campaign to help cover Luis’s basic living expenses during his recovery, so he can focus on healing without the added stress of financial hardship.
