For Luis

El is starting this fundraiser for Luis, El’s partner, after a frightening and unexpected detention. On Sunday, 08/16, Luis was arrested by ICE at Newark International Airport. After he suddenly stopped responding to calls and texts from El and other family members, everyone was left scared and searching for answers. Later that night, around 11:03 PM, Luis was finally able to call and say that he had been detained. Luis is a wonderful person, and anyone who knows him has nothing but kind things to say about him. This has been an incredibly painful and overwhelming experience for the people who love him.

The funds raised will help pay for Luis’s legal team and other expenses while he is detained at Delaney Detention Center. Having the right legal support is so important right now, and these costs add up quickly. This fundraiser is a way for El and Luis’s loved ones to stand by him during an uncertain and difficult time.
