Seeking urgent help in covering medical, care-giver costs
Donation protected
On July 13, Luis Castro suffered a hemorrhagic stroke, which is essentially a brain bleed. He required intubation and the placement of a brain catheter to drain the blood from his head. For the last three weeks, his high school sweetheart and partner in life for more than 50 years, has remained glued to his side in a nuero intensive care unit. We anticipate he will remain in critical care for weeks to come. Due to this, his 94-year-old mother, who relied on him for full-time care, has now lost her primary caregivers.
While we thank God for the progress Luis has made, and continue to pray for complete healing, we know that he has a long road to recovery. The doctors’ long-term prognosis is overwhelming. We do not yet know the extent of the damage to his brain, but have been cautioned to prepare for partial - to complete paralysis - and the need for full-time medical care. As of now, he required a tracheostomy and feeding tube placement. He remains unable to speak or move his left arm or leg on command. As a result, we find ourselves in need of urgent financial assistance for both Luis' and his mother's care.
Luis has always been a generous man...sometimes to the point of foolishness. I don’t think I can count the number of times I've witnessed him give to others, even when he was struggling for himself. We're praying that now, in the time of his greatest need, he will be the beneficiary of the same kind of generosity. Thank you sincerely, for anything you can provide!
