On March 22nd, Luis Cambron was injured while playing soccer. He sustained five broken ribs when a player from the opposing team kneed him. On impact, he broke ribs 3, 4, 5, 6, and 7. One was severely displaced and pressed against his lung, making it extremely painful for him to breathe. He underwent surgery to treat his collapsed lung and release the trapped air so he could breathe again. During the procedure, doctors also placed a titanium rod to repair and stabilize his severely displaced ribs. The surgery was successful, but recovery will be challenging.
Luis is currently recovering in the hospital, dealing with constant pain, limited mobility, and working to regain something as basic as normal breathing. He will be out of work for 6–8 weeks and will need ongoing care, including follow-up appointments and respiratory therapy. During this time, medical expenses and the loss of income will place a significant burden on him and his fiancée. This has been an unexpected and difficult situation for Luis and our family.
If you’re able to support him during this time, it would truly mean so much. Each donation is not just financial support. It’s helping Luis breathe, heal, and recover. Even the smallest donation will go a long way. If you’re not able to donate, sharing his story is just as meaningful and appreciated.
Luis is very thankful for everyone who's reaching out and sending their best regards during this difficult time.
