Hey, It’s Lucy! I’m currently a junior at Duke Ellington School of the Arts. As many of you know, I love coming up with stories and plays (shout out Proctor Reunion 2022!) and I’ve become super interested in storytelling. I’ve always been an avid reader and lately I’ve been able to translate my love of stories into film. I’ve been volunteering at a nonprofit to get some hands on experience with professional equipment and I have a short film in progress that will air at the CAMP 2026 Spring Showcase in DC.
Now, some exciting news! I recently applied to the CIEE Paris Program for Filmmaking and Storytelling and got in! I’m super excited and it will be an amazing opportunity to meet other student filmmakers from all around the US this summer. Part of this program involves collaborating on a film and getting the chance to look at professional film studios in Paris. Another benefit is that I can add this to my college portfolio and it will no doubt make a huge difference when I apply for film school.
I am currently working to raise funds to help pay for my participation in the Paris program, so all donations are greatly appreciated!
Even if you aren’t able to donate at this time, thank you so much for supporting me up to this point. Whether it’s sitting through on-stage disasters, doing audio for a 12 year-old’s production, or bringing costumes across the country, I’ve always had you guys to support my art. It makes a huge difference and I’m so grateful for all of you!
